  ACC Newsletter June 2011:  

The ACG Phuket is a brand new cricket and sports ground currently under construction. The playing area will be completed in November this year and the clubhouse substantially complete towards the end of the same month.

The initial ground facility will be the cricket playing area, with an astro surfaced concrete strip, as approved by the Cricket Association of Thailand (CAT). The clubhouse will comprise some 300 s m on two floors, changing rooms, showers, toilets plus open veranda area. On the upper floor, will be the club bar and further toilets, plus the excellent viewing balcony.

The ACG will be developed and financed by Alan Cooke MBE (the land owner’s representative). The ground will be operated and maintained by the Phuket Cricket Group (PCG). The existing Island Furniture 40 Over League will be played on the ACG. The new Saturday afternoon The Courtyard Twenty20 league will also be played on the ACG. The Thai Cricket Youth Development programme, with the active support of the CAT will make the ACG their home ground. The ACG will also be the home ground of the Thai Youth Lomas Rugby.

It is the intention of the ACG to provide the best possible sporting facilities for Thai youth and expatriates on Phuket. The ACG is not limited to cricket and rugby. The sporting possibilities are only limited by the initiative of the members.
